This is the short path through Quarkle. Follow it once and you will know how the whole app fits together. It takes about ten minutes. Each step links to a fuller guide if you want more.
The first time you sign in, Quarkle runs a short guided tour of the app. You can follow these same steps any time.

1. Create a manuscript

Open the Studio and click new manuscript. A blank editor opens. Click the title at the top to name it.
A new, empty Quarkle manuscript

A fresh manuscript. Name it, then start writing where it says 'Let your ideas flow.'

2. Write, or bring in a draft

Type into the page like any editor. Already have a draft? Click Import in the left rail to bring in a PDF, Markdown, or text file. See import & export.
The three-panel Quarkle editor

The editor: your chapters on the left, your manuscript in the middle, and Quarkle's AI on the right.

3. Ask Quarkle a question

Open the Chat tab on the right and ask something about your story. Quarkle reads the relevant pages before it answers. See Quarkle Chat.
A Quarkle Chat answer with a tool trail

Quarkle Chat answers from your manuscript, and shows what it read.

4. Get feedback

Open the Review tab and click Run review. AI editors read your chapter and leave comments in the margin, each with a suggested rewrite you can accept in one click. See the Review Room.
The Review Room with reviewers and comments

Run a review and comments appear in the margin, each with a rewrite.

5. Let Quarkle learn your world

As you write, the Story Atlas builds a record of your characters and world on its own. You do not have to set anything up. See the Story Atlas.
The Story Atlas file tree

The Story Atlas fills in as you write.

That is the whole loop

Write, ask, get feedback, keep going. Everything else in these docs is detail on top of this. Follow the Next link at the bottom of each page to move through them in order.
