# Chapters

> Add, rename, reorder, and delete chapters in your manuscript map.

Quarkle gives you a clear map of your chapters. Open **Chapters** in the left rail to see your **manuscript map**.

## Working with chapters

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add a chapter">
    Use the **Add Chapter** button, or the **+**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Rename a chapter">
    Double-click the chapter, or use its pencil icon.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Reorder chapters">
    Drag a chapter by its handle to move it up or down.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Delete a chapter">
    Use its trash icon. This is available once you have more than one chapter.
  </Step>

  On mobile, there's a chapter picker at the bottom of the screen for quick jumps.
