# The Review Room
> AI editors read your chapter and leave sentence-level comments, each with a suggested rewrite.
The **Review Room** gives your current chapter to a set of AI editors. They read it and leave **comments** in the margin. Each comment points at a specific sentence, explains the problem, and usually offers a rewrite you can apply in one click.
## Overview
Open the **Review** tab. You pick which editors read, run the review, and read their comments in the margin of your manuscript. Two tiles at the top track **open now** (comments still waiting on your call) and **selected** (how many reviewers will read on the next run).
## Run a review
You will see your reviewers, grouped into tiers.
Reviewers are laid out as a ledger, grouped by tier. Tap a row to toggle it on or off. Each row shows how many open comments it has on this chapter and how many notes it's generated per day over the last 14 days.
Click **run review**. Comments stream in as each tier finishes. You can stop at any time. A toast tells you what the run left, for example *"3 comments added"* or *"Review done, nothing here needed a note."*
A chapter needs at least **100 words**, and at least one reviewer on, to run a review.
## Review just a passage
Highlight a line or two you're unsure about, and the review button changes to **review N words**: it reviews only what's highlighted, not the whole chapter. Clear the selection and it goes back to **run review** for the full chapter.
The bubble menu that appears over a selection has the same shortcut. Highlight text and click **Review this** to send just that passage.
Either way, your reviewers still read the whole chapter for context, judging whether a passage repeats a beat or earns its place needs the pages around it, they just leave comments only inside your selection.
## The reviewers and their tiers
Reviewers are grouped into four tiers, one per editing job:
* **Copy**: corrects errors, grammar, spelling, punctuation.
* **Line**: improves sentences, rhythm, clarity, word choice.
* **Developmental**: judges the story, structure, character, stakes.
* **Continuity**: checks details against the rest of the book.

## Read a comment
Each comment attaches to a sentence and shows as a **bead** in the margin, coloured by tier. Click a bead to open the comment. The suggested rewrite previews right in the text as a diff, so you can see what would change before you decide.
## Apply or dismiss
* **Accept** applies the rewrite to your manuscript.
* **Reject** dismisses the comment and changes nothing.
* **Expand** opens the full note: the headline, the reason, and the rewrite.
Use **expand all** to preview every rewrite in the chapter at once, or **clear all** to dismiss them, both live in the panel header. Clear all only touches comments from reviewers currently switched on, so toggling a reviewer off first limits the damage. Nothing changes until you accept it.
## Comments from Chat
You do not have to run a full review to get comments. Ask [Quarkle Chat](/ai/quarkle-chat) to review, critique, or leave notes on the chapter, and it comments straight into the margin instead of replying in the thread. Those notes appear here in the Review Room too, tagged **Chat**, with their own on/off row in the ledger alongside the reviewer tiers.
